What is pillar 3a?

Pillar 3a is part of the Swiss private pension system. To keep your comfortable living standard also after you retire, you will have to put money aside privately. That's where Pillar 3a accounts comes in.

A Pillar 3a account can either be a savings account, but also an investment account. At Selma, you get an investment account, because investing into Pillar 3a can be a great option, given the rather long-term investment horizon.

Does pillar 3a make sense for me?

If you work in Switzerland, it is almost always a good choice to open a Pillar 3a account. Money you pay into Pillar 3a can be deducted from your taxable income and save you taxes.
